Barbara is a living testament to the power of natural healing. Due to her own path to wellness, she specializes in working with those in chronic pain, such as fibromyalgia or migraine headaches. Working primarily as a Reiki practitioner, Barbara also uses a variety of other modalities such as chakra balancing, crystology and sound therapy while sharing techniques to maintain this state of balance. She has experience working with companies who provide these services to their employees.
Her path to becoming a Reiki Master started in 2004 when she fell and twisted her ankle. She was treated for a severe sprain, but her condition continued to worsen. Several months later she was diagnosed with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (now known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome), a condition that causes the nerve endings to react to pain long after the body has healed. As RSD progresses, the limbs atrophy and healthy tissue can die. The prognosis was horrible, with little chance of a cure. Because of constant, excruciating pain, Barbara couldn’t wear a sock or shoe or stand for more than a few minutes at a time. She had to use a cane, walker or wheelchair just to get around. Medicines and over 20 injections to block the pain, were not effective. Yet, she was determined to heal. With the support of her physician, Barbara began to try natural, alternative therapies. This led her to try Qigong – an ancient Chinese meditative practice that uses controlled movement and breathing to promote circulation and enhance health. Within four months, she was able to drive again, wear shoes and walk short distances. She also eliminated two-thirds of her medications. Now that Barbara was on a true path to wellness and connected to spiritual guidance, she was lead to a wonderful Reiki Master. A short time later, Barbara became a student of Reiki and her life was forever changed. After training in Reiki techniques, she began to treat herself and receive treatments from others in her class. Over a few months time, all her symptoms went away and she was pain free. She resumed her active life style with no medication at all. It is very rare to be healed from RSD, but that’s what happened. Her orthopedist was amazed. She continued Reiki studies and became a Reiki Master in 2007. She has practiced Reiki on a regular basis since then, in her healing room, at energy fairs, in Reiki circles, in places of business and, in cases when the client cannot travel, in the client's home. In 2011, Barbara broke her arm and the symptoms of Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy surfaced again. This time, with the assistance of her partner, Michael, she recovered quickly with the aid of herbs, crystals, Meditation, Reiki and other natural healing modalities ~ and the knowing that giving energy to her returning wellness would serve her better than succumbing to the pain. “My own personal experience has helped me realize there is great power in natural healing – and great joy in sharing it with others,” she says. Always seeking to expand herself and the services she might offer, Barbara received certification as a Purpose and Vision Navigator. Not only did this help her see where her next life adventure may lie, it also inspired her to offer this dynamic tool to others as they go through the transitions in life. Specifically, those she can relate to, individuals reaching retirement age that are looking their next great "thing." Michael has been studying a Shamanic and mindful way of living for over 40 years. Along the way he has earned a master/teacher certification in Usui Reiki and mastery level certifications in Ascension Reiki, Soma Pi, Crystology and Purpose & Vision Navigation. He is also a student of herbal medicine, geomancy, sacred geometry and vibrational sound therapy. While this experience has been invaluable, his most treasured lessons came from various spiritual leaders and teachers that do not offer certifications. They simply offer the benefit of their experience.
With this eclectic background, Michael has developed a unique practice. Based upon the premise that everything is energy, he works with the balancing of that energy. Whether it be the energy of people, animals, land or structures, he works with the imbalances of energy that manifest as stress, stagnation and dis-ease. This is how the design of the chakra balancing quilt came about. He blended his passion for the study of the ancient mysteries of sacred geometry, crystology and energy medicine... added the powerful effects of color, Sanskrit symbols, natural fibers and gifted fabricators (that are also lightworkers) and the chakra balancing quilt and pillows set was born. On a more personal level, Michael offers his services to individuals in the form of energy sessions that are designed to clear blockages and balance the subtle energy fields while at the same time offering them empowering tools so they may take the lead on their path of wellness. These sessions may include a variety of energy modalities, the laying on of stones or grids of stones, shamanic journeying, vibrational sound therapy or any combination of the above. As life issues often surface during a session, a type of life coaching called Purpose and Vision Navigation is also offered. And of course no session is complete without the chakra balancing quilt and pillows. On occasion, Michael offers Reiki instruction and mentoring to the more serious students that are not interested in instant certification but are willing to take the slow, honored route to mastery. As an herbalist, Michael can suggest herbal medicines that you might consider based upon your symptoms, medical history and other medications you may be taking at the time. As a geomancer, Michael works with the natural energy ley lines of the Earth to clear residual, or stuck energy. He also places grids based upon the proportions of sacred geometry to anchor specific energies of your choosing or to relieve geopathic stress. One of the side benefits Michael acquired from his teachers is the ability to work with stuck entities or, for a lack of a better word, ghosts. With this, he is able to assist in moving these entities from land or residences and on to the "light,"so to speak. Remote, or distant sessions and clearings are also available and can be every bit as effective as those that take place in person. If Michael cannot personally assist you, he will readily refer you to someone he feels can be of service to you. On one last note: Whether it be an energy session or herbal medicine suggestions, please understand that nothing can replace the relationship you have with your medically trained physician and none of what is offered here is meant to replace your doctor's advice. Instead, what is offered here is meant to be a perfect compliment to any other treatment or therapy you may be prescribed.
